Allin stakes MJF's hair on world title rematch as Ospreay trains with Death Riders
All Elite Wrestling's AEW World Champion Darby Allin challenged Maxwell Jacob Friedman to a title versus hair match during the promotion's double episode of Dynamite and Collision. Allin issued the stipulation after defending his title against TNT Champion Kevin Knight. MJF had demanded a rematch following Allin's successful defenses against Tommaso Ciampa and Brody King.
The episode opened with a tribute to Ted Turner, the media mogul who launched TBS and TNT and owned World Championship Wrestling in the 1990s, following his death at age 87. AEW broadcasters Tony Schiavone and Sting praised Turner's role in building WCW into a ratings rival to WWE. Allin retained his title in a competitive bout with Knight, highlighted by a Code Red, suicide dive, double clothesline, hurricanrana, springboard clothesline, Scorpion Death Lock, coast-to-coast dropkick, UFO, guillotine choke and two Coffin Drops.
Kazuchika Okada declared his pursuit of the AEW World Championship and will challenge Allin next week. Will Ospreay continued training at the Death Riders' dojo despite a recent stint in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he aided United Empire in capturing the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship. Death Riders members, including Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia, pushed Ospreay through intense neck-strengthening drills amid tension with the group.
A contract signing for the Allin-MJF title versus hair match is set ahead of Double or Nothing. Samoa Joe pitched an alliance with Ospreay to sustain his championship run. An AEW doctor noted Ospreay nears clearance to compete.
