Ospreay defeats Joe to advance in Owen Hart Cup at Double or Nothing
Will Ospreay defeated Samoa Joe in the opening round of the Owen Hart Men’s Tournament at AEW Double or Nothing on 24 May 2026 in Queens, New York. Ospreay opened the match with an OsCutter and secured the victory with multiple Hidden Blade strikes. The win advances him to the semifinals.
The tournament winner receives an AEW World Championship opportunity at All In, scheduled for Wembley Stadium in England. Ospreay stated at the post-event media session that he possesses the confidence and belief required to carry the promotion at the highest level and intends to raise its standing further.
Ospreay next faces either Mark Davis or Jack Perry. On the opposite half of the bracket, Swerve Strickland defeated Bandido and will meet either Claudio Castagnoli or Brody King. The tournament final is set for 28 June at Forbidden Door.
Ospreay has cited a long-standing ambition to perform at Wembley Stadium. He returned from a neck injury and trained with the Death Riders ahead of the match against Joe.
